Privacy policy

What personal data EmKeTech collects through this website, its careers pages and its products, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated:

Who we are

This policy is issued by EmKeTech (“EmKeTech”, “we”, “us”), which is based in Ireland. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

It covers the website at emketech.com, including its careers pages, and the products EmKeTech publishes at addresses ending in emketech.com. It does not cover EmKeTech’s internal systems, which are used only by EmKeTech employees.

For any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us at support@emketech.com.

Summary

  • This website has no accounts, sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising, and loads no third-party trackers or fonts.
  • The only thing this website collects is what you send with the product support form: your email address, the product, what your message is about and the message itself. It is emailed to our support inbox and is not stored by the website. Getting in touch about anything else, and applying for a role, are both done by emailing us directly.
  • We keep job applications for up to 12 months after the recruitment process for the role ends, unless you agree to a longer period or a legal claim requires it.
  • We do not sell personal data, we send no newsletters, and we make no automated decisions about candidates.
  • You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data at any time by writing to support@emketech.com.

Visiting this website

You can read every public page of emketech.com without giving us any information. The public pages set no cookies and use no local or session storage, and there is no analytics, advertising, social media widget or other third-party tracking on them. Fonts are served from this website, not from a third party.

Request logs. Like any website, emketech.com is delivered by servers that receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser’s user-agent string. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps request logs of this kind for operational and security purposes, such as keeping the service running, diagnosing faults and detecting abuse. We do not use these logs to build a profile of you or to identify you, except where that is necessary to investigate misuse or a security incident.

The website has no accounts and no sign-in. It reads the products, open roles and news that EmKeTech publishes, and holds nothing about the people who visit it.

Contacting us

This website has no general contact form. You reach us by emailing support@emketech.com, so your message goes from your own mail provider to ours and never passes through this site. Nothing about it is collected, processed or stored here.

We receive your email address, your message and anything else you choose to include, and we use them only to read and answer your enquiry and to deal with any follow-up it leads to. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Asking for product support

The support page at emketech.com/support lets you ask for help with an EmKeTech product. When you send a message with it, we receive:

  • your email address, so that we can reply to you;
  • the product and the kind of request you chose;
  • your message; and
  • if you reached the form from a link inside a product, the page of that product the link names, so that we know where the problem happened.

We ask for nothing else: no name, phone number, address or account details, and the form takes no attachments. Please do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in your message.

Your message is sent to EmKeTech’s support inbox by email, through our email delivery provider, Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), with your address set as the one to reply to. The website does not store it, keeps no record of support requests and adds no analytics to the form. We use what you send only to answer your request and deal with any follow-up, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

Before a message is sent, the form runs a security check, Cloudflare Turnstile, to tell people from automated traffic. The check processes technical signals from your browser and device. Cloudflare receives these directly; the website only receives the result.

Applying for a job

This website has no application form. You apply by emailing the address shown on the role’s own page, with the role in the subject line, so your application goes from your mail provider to ours and never passes through this site. What we receive is whatever you choose to send, which is usually:

  • your name and email address;
  • your CV and, if you include one, a cover note; and
  • anything else you choose to attach or write.

Each open role has its own recruitment address, set when the role is published, so your application reaches the people hiring for that role and nobody else. It is held in EmKeTech’s email system and used by the people involved in recruiting for it. It is not stored by this website or in its database, because this website never receives it.

We use your application to assess your suitability for the role, to contact you about it, to arrange and conduct interviews, and to make and record a recruitment decision. Decisions are made by people. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to assess candidates.

Please send only what the role asks for

Do not include in your application information we have not asked for, particularly information about your health, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, trade union membership or sexual orientation, or identity documents. If you need an adjustment to take part in the recruitment process, tell us at support@emketech.com and we will use that information only to make the adjustment.

EmKeTech products

EmKeTech publishes separate products at their own addresses ending in emketech.com, such as ATSCheck, AudioCut, CalBuddy, Compoundly, DNSLens, EventScore, InvoiceDesk, KeyMint, MicBridge, OCR2text, PDFmate, Picsizer, QRbuddy, RedactKit, SecretSanta, SIPLens, SplitTab, StageMix, SubnetLens, SubTrack, TaxCalc, TextDiff, TimeBridge, VideoTone and WinnerWheel.

  • Processing in your browser. Many of the products process the files and data you give them entirely within your browser. In those cases your content is not sent to us.
  • Products with accounts. Where a product has accounts, it holds the account details it needs and sets strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in.
  • MicBridge has accounts for staff users and stores interview recordings. Recordings are deleted automatically after a retention period.
  • VideoTone uploads your video to a temporary server to convert it. The source video is removed after conversion, and the converted output expires automatically.

A product may publish its own privacy notice with details specific to that product. Where it does, that notice takes precedence over this policy for that product, and this policy applies to everything the product notice does not cover.

Purposes and lawful bases

Data protection law requires a lawful basis, under Article 6 of the GDPR, for each purpose for which we use personal data. These are ours.

Purposes for which EmKeTech uses personal data, and the lawful basis for each

Confirming that you have read this policy when you apply for a job is an acknowledgement, not consent: we do not rely on consent to assess your application. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are overridden by your rights and freedoms, and you have the right to object (see Your rights).

How long we keep data

We keep personal data for no longer than we need it for the purpose it was collected for.

Who receives your data

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Inside EmKeTech, personal data is available only to the people who need it: enquiries to those who answer them, applications to those recruiting for the role.

We use the following service providers, who process personal data on our behalf as processors, acting on our instructions:

Service providers that process personal data for EmKeTech
ProviderServicePersonal data involved
Vercel Inc.Hosting for the websiteRequest logs
Cloudflare, Inc.Turnstile security check on the support formTechnical signals from your browser and device
Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.)Email delivery for the support formYour email address, the product and kind of request, and your message
Supabase Inc.PostgreSQL database, hosted in the EU (Ireland)None. The website only reads published product, role and news content from it

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a court or public authority, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Transfers outside the EEA

Our database is hosted in the EU. Some of our other service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, the transfer relies on an appropriate safeguard recognised by the GDPR, such as a European Commission adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient participates in it) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can ask us for more information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer by writing to support@emketech.com.

How we protect data

  • Connections to emketech.com are encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).
  • The website connects to its database through its own isolated, least-privilege database role, which can read only what EmKeTech publishes and cannot change anything.
  • The website has no accounts, so it holds no passwords and no sign-in cookies to steal.
  • The website accepts one kind of input: a message sent with the support form. It is checked on the server, including the security check, then emailed to our support inbox. It is never written to the website’s database or its logs.
  • Applications and general enquiries reach us as ordinary email and are never stored in the website’s database, because the website never receives them.

No system is free of risk. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Data Protection Commission, and you where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • Rectification of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Erasure of your personal data, where there is no longer a reason for us to keep it;
  • Restriction of how we use your data, for example while a complaint about its accuracy is looked into;
  • Portability: to receive data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another organisation, where we process it by automated means on the basis of consent or a contract;
  • Object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@emketech.com. There is no charge. We may ask for information to confirm your identity before we act on a request. We will respond within one month of receiving it; where a request is complex, or we receive a number of requests, we may extend that by up to two further months, and if so we will tell you why within the first month.

Some rights are not absolute. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because we must keep data in connection with a legal claim, we will explain why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at support@emketech.com so that we can try to resolve it.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Ireland that is the Data Protection Commission, whose details are at dataprotection.ie. If you live or work in another EU or EEA country, you may instead complain to the supervisory authority there.

Children

This website and EmKeTech’s products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us at support@emketech.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the way we handle personal data changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Where a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page and, where we have a way of contacting you and the law requires it, tell you directly.
